Egon Schiele, charcoal and indian ink, 1909

The pinnacle of beauty can be found in the confrontation with Egon Schiele’s erotic drawings, as adored fragments of dreams. He drew the shameless honesty where the elicited sexuality offered lust to those who love life. His models, sometimes minors, balanced in challenging poses and with an erotic immediacy on the edge of pornography.

In the 1910s this was unthinkable and at the age of 22 he was arrested for his masterful drawings. As part of his artistic masterpieces, he drew self-portraits with an emotional subtlety of drama alienated in dark thoughts.
