VANESSA BEECROFT, 1993, watercolour and oil stick on papier

The anonymous figures of Vanessa Beecroft, who suffered from eating disorders, show an urge to self-destruction. Drawings of scrawny female figures are on the border of psyche and pure creation. A suffering is expressed in sexuality from a hypersensitive personality. Thrilling colours and flaming accents illuminate the deformed body full of despair, unfulfilled or damaged. The aggression and tragedy in this whimsical representations of the image of women reject any form of seduction.
