VANESSA BEECROFT, 1993, watercolour and oil stick on papier

Drawings of skinny figures border the line between the psyche and pure fabrication. Through her extremely sensitive nature, Beecroft expresses sexual suffering. Vibrating colours and blazing accents put the focus on the distorted body full of despair; unfulfilled or damaged. The untitled figures exhibit an urge for self-destruction. The aggressiveness and tragedy in this grim representation of a woman reject any form of seduction.
